Good to know

• Color peaks from north to south through the month. Bluff parks in the Driftless (Wyalusing, Wildcat Mountain, Perrot, Devil's Lake) peak mid-to-late October.
• Many seasonal campgrounds close in mid-to-late October, but the year-round ones below stay open.
• Shower buildings and water taps shut off around mid-October to keep pipes from freezing.
